Dr Nader Yakoub, Consultant Psychiatrist |
|
Dr Yakoub has completed his primary medical
degree in Egypt in 1998. He had moved to the UK to start his
postgraduate psychiatric training, experiencing a wide range of
Psychiatric subspecialties in both England and Scotland. He is a member
of the Royal College of Psychiatrist of the UK since 2008. Dr Yakoub has a special interest in
Neuropsychiatric disorders (including Dementia) and Psychiatry of Old
Age. He has a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Neuropsychiatry from the
University of Birmingham with an award of distinction. He is a qualified
UK Specialist in Old Age Psychiatry and has worked as a Consultant in
Scotland before moving to Australia. In addition to his significant UK experience, Dr Yakoub has been practicing as a Consultant Aged Psychiatrist in different metropolitan and regional Victorian hospitals since 2012. His experience also extends inter-state where he has worked in regional NSW and Metropolitan Queensland. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and a member of the Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age (FPOA). Dr Yakoub has also worked as a clinical associate with the severe behaviour response team (SBRT) of dementia support australia where he gained significant experience in the field With his interest in medical teaching Dr Yakoub
was an Honorary Clinical Teacher at the University of Dundee in
Scotland. He is currently an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the School of
Psychology and Psychiatry of Monash University.
